Big Brothers Big Sisters of the MidlandsWhat is Website in a Box:

Website in a Box (WIAB) provides agencies with the look, feel, and functionality of national's website in an easy to manage, easy to update system.  WIAB runs on the Kintera platform, using their Content Managament System (CMS).  This allows non-technical people to maintain an up-to-date site, much the same way as you create Word documents or Power Point presentations.

Website in a Box provides agencies with the ability to:

  • Quickly and easily update your website;
  • Accept donations, with credit card processing;
  • Accept volunteer inquiries;
  • Enroll children;
  • Easily edit web content without professional help;
  • Share images and stories fit for the template across the BBBS network;
  • Increase collaboration throughout the BBBS network;
  • Provide a unified online brand presence across the organization using a tested, professional and exciting new website look.

How much does it cost:

The basic WIAB package (website only) costs $2,009 for the first year, $999 for each additional year.  For agencies that use Kintera Thon for their Bowl For Kids' Sake, or for agencies that wish to add that component, just add $649 to the basic package costs.

Agencies will be provided with:

  • The BigBrothersBigSisters.org website template;
  • Website Hosting;
  • A customized URL in the following format: BBBS.org/Your_Agency;
  • Training to use the Kintera CMS to make updates to their website;
  • Assistance in localizing the template to their agency;
  • Regularly available teleconference training.

                    Great! How do I start?

                    1. Contact Patrick Mohan at webmaster@bbbs.org and send him your tax id and your agency's point of contact for this project.  This signals that you have read the information sheets, understand the project, agree to the costs, and are ready to begin.  The point of contact (POC) for your agency can be more than one, and should include the name of the person who will receive the training and has the responsibility for maintaining your website.

                    2. You will then receive contracts from our support vendor Event 360 AND Kintera.  You need to sign these and return them, along with payment to both vendors, to begin.

                    3. Upon receipt of the contracts:
                      • Event 360 will send you a questionnaire to complete.  This is to assist them in customizing your template.  The questionnaire should take you no more than two hours.
                      • Kintera creates an account for you, or updates your existing account.

                    4. Upon completion of your questionnaire, Event 360 can then begin work on your custom template.

                    5. We will then fit your agency into the next available training. We will have 10-15 agencies per training session, with sessions available every two weeks. These web based sessions will be filled first completed steps, first trained.
